I'm Jans Ikes (Jānis Lūciņš). I live in Latvia, in beautiful fountain and flower city- Ventspils. First years of my life I spent in Kuldiga. There I started to play guitar and write poetry. My first poem ''Lietus lāses'' (in latvian), was written in 2004, autumn, when the rain was heavily pouring down on my windowsill. That's how my first poem was written, and now, looking back at it, it seems so childishly naive. Next poem was ''Tici brīnumam'' (in latvian) and it was published in a teen magazine ''Sīrups'', in 2005, summer. Then, for a moment, was silence, and I returned with poem ''Melnā Lēdija'' (in latvian), which was also published in magazine ''Popcorn'', in 2007. After some time I was known as Jans Ikes. My next publication was in latvian poets Māris Čaklais homepage, where, in 2008, I dedicated a poem to him-''Kājāmgājējs'' (in latvian). And then I tried to publish my poems everywhere I could.
The newest and closest to my heart is poem ''Ziemas sapnis'' [''Winter dream''] (2010, winter).
2011, 25. february- I'm participating in a project ''Mana grāmata'' [''My Book''].
''My Book''- 2nd edition |
2011, 18. march- an Interview with me is published in a newspaper ''Ventas balss'' (in latvian), in Ventspils region.
